This was for sure a test of the Shia Shame. But I got through it, and now my resolve is stronger than ever, no more shall I waste time lusting after Louis Stevens. Last year, his running pictures sent me into a tizzy. This year...I had a minor two minute struggle, and then nothing. I think it was the pants that put me over the edge- I know they're good for running, but...ech. Weird.
This is for our dear amica Claire, who I know will find the sexy in these running pictures without any shame, and power to her.
Shia ran in the L.A. marathon on Sunday, finishing the 26.2 mile race in 4 hours and 35 minutes. He ran for charity, for U.S. Veterans as you can tell by his tank top (his father served in Vietnam).

Izzy Did It!
He did it! Eddie Izzard finished his insanely cool 1,100 mile run across Britain yesterday, stumbling into a waiting horde of photographers wheezing, "I...feel...exhausted."
It took him several weeks, but he ran at least 27 miles a day, taking him from London to Liverpool, Northern Ireland, Scotland and down back around to London. He celebrated completing 43 marathons in 52 days by predicting today that he would run for parliament in Westminster or Brussels within the next 15 years. Go for it Eddie- I would believe he could do anything now. Remember how chubs he looked at the beginning of this?
He was running for a charity called Sports Relief, and he had a BBC film crew following him in a rickshaw the whole time! He also had Tagging along were also his manager, a sports therapist and an ice cream truck following him periodically playing Chariots of Fire. Oh yes. Boy does it, and he does it funny.
Amazing thing is, he only trained for five weeks before attempting this. Crazy sexy cool, that's what that is. He claims it was mind over matter:
"My analogy was world war two. They all did amazing things that they were not planning to do. They became commandos and they shot anti-aircraft batteries, and if you imagine in your head you are going to do this extreme thing then you do it."

Run Edward, Run!
Love Edward Norton. He is training for the New York Marathon, and for some reason it feels less fame whoring and/or ego driven than the others (Katie Holmes, P. Diddy). He has never run a marathon before, but he was a competitive rower at Yale University (hear that Megs? Yale!).
He is racing will benefit The Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust, which helps preserve the Maasai tribal lands of East Africa (Kenya mostly). You can follow his training on twitter here. For those runners out there, it's actually a really interesting read.
The Maasai have a long tradition of distance running. Norton said one of the runners, safari guide Parashi Ntanin, is so fast he could probably leave the rest of the group behind and run the race in less than 2½ hours. He has run as much as 15 miles twice during his training for the 26.2-mile marathon and that despite some leg and knee pains, he's confident he'll finish the endurance race.
"I'm really enjoying it," he said after a workout Wednesday in New York. "I'm enjoying having a goal."

I studied the Maasai in my anthropology class last semester. We read "The Worlds of a Maasai Warrior" by Tepilit Ole Saitoti, which is a fascinating book. I can lend it if anyone would like. Trust, it was a great book. The Maasai need a lot of land because they are a nomadic people, who work mostly with cows- they believe that they are the sacred keepers of cows, and all the cows in the world belong to them, and are only lost from the herd. So if you've got a cow, stay away from Maasai.
Also the only way to become a true Maasai warrior is by killing a lion with a spear. How insanely B.A. is that? Technically it's illegal for them to do that now, but still. I don't think they really follow that rule too much.
Anyways, love Edward Norton, he is the ish.

Running Down A Dream.
Is it weird that he's a little pudgy in the middle even though I assume he's been training for this? I'll just say it's because no one looks good when running. As a person who has photographed runners, I can assure you of that. Claire, a runner, I'm sure will back me up. It is not a flattering sport.Theo doesn't really seem to think this is that impressive, but as a total, 100% absolute non-runner...this is blowing my mind. English comedian Eddie Izzard is running 1000 miles in 7 weeks to attempt to raise money for the British charity Sport Relief. That's 20 miles a day.
Let me tell you, I can barely run 1 mile per day. Not even, I have to walk some of it. This is dedication to a cause- I mean, whatever, Katie Holmes and P. Diddy ran the New York Marathon, big deal.
This is the shiz. This is some Forrest Gump inspirational shiz.
It's not quite as good as Shia LaBeouf though, I have to say. Maybe he could run for a cause. popYEAH!

Giving Back is Sexy
So, mi madre recently decided to do 26.2 with Donna aka a marathon. I know, right? I was always under the impression that marathons were for marathon runners, but this is not my mother- never will be. We both hate running, which is why she is now in training to walk a minute, and then run a minute. Crazy, but this can be faster than running the entire thing. Can be.
But, nonetheless, I'm uber psyched for her.
So, 26.2 with Donna benefits The National Marathon to Fight Breast Cancer, last year $800,000 were raised!!
I’m debating about joining her. It’s a win win. You workout out and help find a cure! What’s not sexy about that?
And, I would be totally lying if I said I hadn’t pictured Shia, Matthew or Lance and I running side by side already.

Steps Backwards.
I thought I was fine. I thought that it was over, this illness. Then I saw this. This... well, see for yourself.
Ugh. It took me completely by surprise. No way I could have defended against it. Transformers went off without a hitch, absolutely no le sigh feelings for Shia at all.
Then this. Lets call this... 5 steps backwards.
