Congratulations!

Yay congratulations to Dakota Fanning! She just graduated from high school on Monday.

"I think it was really important to have the high school experience," she said on the Today Show last fall. " I just think everyone always looks back on that time in their life. Who was homecoming princess and [did] the cheerleading ... and all the things that go along with high school? And I wanted to have that. I'm really lucky that I found a school that allows me to do both."

Love her, congrats Dakota! I guess she probably won't be living off of the graduation party money for years, like the rest of us.

Golden Girls.

This is cute. A little serious for someone her age, but classy none the less. Very Goldie Hawn, the early years.

She has what, I'm assuming will be a very crappy movie coming out with Kristen Stewart, the Joan Jett one, and...well, Kristen Stewart does not have my greatest confidence.

Love Dakota though- it's nice to see someone progressing through their teen years with a modicum of poise.

On the other halves of the covers release was another young star who possesses a great deal of grace, Gabourey Sidibe.

I can't even say how much I love her. So cool, so sweet. Such an inspiration for girls everywhere.
“All my life I’ve been hearing that I’ll never amount to anything until I am skinny, and she [co-star Mo'nique] disproved everything that everyone has ever told me.”

One Long Year

Taylor Momsen and Dakota Fanning are one looooooooong year apart. They are 16 and 15, respectively, but really they live about ten years apart. Here's Dakota at her high school's homecoming- where she was crowned Princess. Now, now before some of you freak out about me pointing this out, I'm not dissing Taylor (it's too easy). I'm just pointing out how refreashing it is to see a young celebrity enjoying her youth! I think there is something very sad about kids that finish high school earlier to act, not attend college. They do it for convience, so they don't have to work with tutors on set.

It's nice to see that Dakota has a life outside of hollywood. Okay, and it makes me really think that Taylor's whole "I'm an artist... Why do I need math?" act is total bull. Sorry, I had to say it. High school is more than just the classes- its the activies and the friends you make. And, honestly, Taylor Momsen could use a really good girl friend to tell her to STFU!

Dakota, A Girl on the Fringe.

Not sure how I feel about this. All black? Do you know how hot it is in L.A. still? Plus they have those fires. I like her sandals though, for sure. Simple and easy- in fact I think I have the same pair from Old Navy. Love wearing dresses with sandals.

I guess this is Dakota's way of telling us she's growing up, doing more serious movies. Although, lets think about this for a minute: with a name like Dakota, she was basically predestined to be wearing fringe at some point in her life.
