Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes Separate.

Kate Winslet and director Sam Mendes have announced that after six years of marriage, they have been separated since the beginning of this year.

They have one child together, Joe Alfie Winslet Mendes, and this is the second marriage for Winslet, who was married to film assistant Jim Threapleton in 1998 before divorcing in 2001, and had one child, Mia.

A lawyer for the couple stated,
“Kate and Sam are saddened to announce that they separated earlier this year. The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children. They ask that the media respect their privacy at this time.”

 So sad. I loved this couple! Hopefully they can work things out.

Golden Kate.

AGH! Love love love love HBO miniseries. They're the best, and with Kate Winslet in one? It's going to be phenomenal. I mean, if Drew Barrymore, the poor man's Kate, can pull it off with a modicum of success, Kate is going to kick it into high gear.

Remember John Adams? Loved that miniseries. Laura Linney was outstanding. HBO always picks the best female leads for these things.

Kate is about to embark on a remake of Mildred Pierce, originally played by Joan Crawford, who won an Academy Award in 1945 for her portrayl.

Perhaps Kate is looking to reel in her second golden statue?

Normality.

Kate Winslet is on the cover of Harper's Bazaar this month and she talks about her image, and seeing airbrushed photos of herself. Kate said,
"I have wrinkles here [on her forehead], which are very evident, I will particularly say when I look at movie posters: 'You guys have airbrushed my forehead. Please can you change it back?' I’d rather be the woman they’re saying 'She’s looking older' than 'She’s looking stoned'.

Love her. Just when I'm feeling badly about hating Megan Fox or Katherine Heigl, I see Kate Winslet and I suddenly remember why they are so horrible. Because she is so awesome. She doesn't try to make people think she is some whore sex goddess or a successful witty girl next door.

"[Young women] look at all of us, myself included, on these magazine covers and they think 'My God, how does she get skin like that?' And I can tell you, I have so many blemishes under this make-up that have been so fabulously covered, I promise you... [On the red carpet] our knickers will still go up our a** at the most inappropriate moment. And we’ll still want to flick them out, but you can’t because someone is going to catch you."

Kate Winslet and Zooey Deschanel. Always top 2 on my favorite celebrities list. Megan Fox and Katherine Heigl are always on the death list. That's worse than the least favorite celebrities list.
