Lizzie is Preggers!

This makes me feel really weird. I mean, remember when Hilly Duff was getting two-timed by Aaron Carter with Lindsay Lohan?

How times have changed. Really, at that point it was a 50/50 coin toss on which one of them would end up married with a baby and which one of them would end up addicted and having to pretend to be pregnant not to lose her job on a really horrible made for TV movie, just to support her drug habit. 

She announced on her website this morning:

“Hello everyone! This weekend, Mike and I are celebrating our 1 year anniversary! In memory of the special day, we decided to post some of our favorite pictures from our wedding! I can’t believe it has already been a year, time really flies when you’re having fun! We also want to share the exciting news that BABY MAKES THREE!!! We are extremely happy and ready to start this new chapter of our lives. Thanks to everyone for the continued love and support throughout the years!”

Anyways, congrats to Hillary and her Pens hockey husband Mike Comrie! So very sweet.

Sidney Crosby Can Do Everything. Officially.

IS THIS A FREAKING JOKE??? Is there anything he can't do? Really? Anything?

There must be something. I'm going to figure out what it is. Or else the next Chuck Norris is going to be Sidney Crosby.

Pens Sign Hillary...I Mean, Mike Comrie.

The Pens have signed forward Mike Comrie to their roster. You know what this means? HILLARY DUFF IN PITTSBURGH. Sweet. I know some girls who will be ecstatic, especially if other tween stars- aka the Jo Bros- follow.

They signed him for a years contract, worth $500,000.

“I think the biggest thing for me is that I’m excited to join a team that has some great players. Hopefully I can come in and complement them and be a guy that can help score and create some depth," Mike said. "I'm excited. It was definitely a hockey decision. There’s times in your career where you make a decision — I wanted to go to a great team and be a part of an organization like Pittsburgh and be able to compete for a Stanley Cup."

Can you imagine the kind of press this is going to bring the Pens? Sidney Crosby might be feeling a little shift of the limelight if Comrie's ball and chain is in the stands. This could be good or bad for those of us who are head over heels for him.

Lets just pray he doesn't get the marry the blonde starlet fever. I would freaking kill myself.

Au Revoir Coupe de Stanley...

It's over. Hard fought, but finished. I wish I could have seen the Pens go a little farther, but we have lost. If we had to lose to someone, I'm glad it was the Habs. I really hope they win the Stanley Cup this year, they've come up from being the number 8 seed coming into the Playoffs to beating last year's Stanley Cup Champions.

They'll be the Cinderella story of the year if they win. Everyone loves a good one of those.

Not an easy feat.

Jordan Staal rallied us late in the second, but not enough. Don't even get me started on poor Marc-Andrè. Probably think's it's his fault.

Better luck next year, and 'Bon chance' to the Canadiens!

Staal Skates.

Jordan Staal skated briefly today before practice in spite of having suffered a lacerated tendon in his foot during Game 1 against Montreal.

He will not skate tonight for Game 3 in Montreal, and is still listed as day-to-day. Skating at all seems fairly impressive considering that he just underwent a procedure to repair the tendon over the weekend.

He is one tall drink of man, isn't he? Just lovely.

Mon Ami Marc-André.

Marc-André is my favorite. I want him to be my friend so badly- he is just so goofy. Hanging out with him would just be the funniest, best time ever.

"I'm not kidding, I missed the beginning again." Classic.

Go Pens. The Canadiens/Penguins series continues tomorrow night in Montreal. 7 PM on Versus.

Pens Win First Series.

Just to keep you updated, the Pens have won their series against the Ottowa Senators, so Mike Fisher (Carrie Underwood's fiance) is looking pretty glum right now.

After the last game, which went into TRIPLE overtime (that's practically playing a whole other game folks) when this one went into OT, I was expecting to sit for a while.

Then Pascal Dupuis (Theo loves saying his name- and it is nice, non? This is him above with his son at last year's Cup winning game) made the game winning and series ending goal. Such a cutie. Just watch. His beard compared to Sid's? Aww.

Geno Wins Dapper Dan.

Congratulations to 23 year old Pittsburgh Penguin's center Evgeni "Geno" Malkin for winning Pittsburgh's highest sports award, Dapper Dan.

Guess who was also present for the big night? popYEAH!'s name inspiration, Max Talbot. Always around for the spotlight that one.

You know how endearing I find broken english. This takes the cake. So adorable.

I can't believe I forgot to wish one of our favorite Pens, the inspiration for our blog name, and my personal love, Max Talbot a happy birthday yesterday. The day after mine, another reason we are meant to be together.

I mean, I'm not sure what birthday proximity has to do with anything, but at the very least it means we should be besties, which is totally fine with me.

Pens and Pins.

So cool, and such a good cause. "Pens and Pins" is an event held every year to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation, organized by the Penguins wives.

Billy Guerin's mustache? Hilarious. Also, the Boston hat is a nice touch.

Also, it's funny to see how bad Malkin is at bowling. My favorite quote from Mike Rupp, calling him, "a guy whose probably never seen a bowling ball before...I

That's how he plays. It's hilarious. Also...Max? Sa-woooooon. When he admits he's not that good at bowling? AAAAAAGGGHH. Love Max. So much. Le sigh.

Max vs. Sid, Round 2.

Max and Sid, Sid and Max. So adorably funny together. I posted round 1 of this Reebok commercial that feature's Sidney's famous dryer he used to practice in as a kid, and Reebok recently released the footage of round 2.

Hilarious. Their commercials, always my favorite. Then again...they're pretty much the only two that really do them. Anyways, take a look and find out who the winner of round two is.

Can Hockey Get a Little Love?

Probably no one will appreciate this, aside from maybe Theo, but I'm just too excited about finally getting to watch a Pens game this Sunday. It's against the Flyers, which is...so perfect. I'll just be heading on down the road to the piazza Navona...oh yes. After a weekend in Spain. Jealous?

Anyways, the reason I can catch the game is that it's on NBC, and hence starting at 12:30, aka 6:30 my time. Above is an example of NBC's coverage of hockey. Notice anything weird? Maybe the fact that they show a reel praising a goalie OVER him getting scored on? Totally missed the goal, and the irony kills. Ah, America and their sports. Can hockey get a little love?

Seriously- they wonder why they're going to lose 12 million on the Olympics. As Conan O'Brien said, "Am I the only one who finds that really funny?" You reap what you sow NBC...

Sid with Kids.

The Pens may have lost last night (only by one point!) but Sidney Crosby is winning in other areas- yet another commercial (he has almost as many as Max these days) and this one is, in a word, adorable. Love little hockey babies. Plus, isn't it great that Sid has time for both Reebok AND Tim Hortons? Staying true to his Canadian roots, that one. There's an article about it HERE.

Not sure if I posted his Reebok commercial with Max, but if I didn't...I am so sorry. It is phenomenal. I'll put that one down last.

All a Fleury.

So Pittsburgh Penguin's goalie Marc-Andrè Fleury was featured in Pittsburgh magazine for this month, and...what a cutie. My mom is dying over this right now. She loves Marc-Andrè. If she could trade me in for him, she would. But I'm too lazy to be a professional athelete. And uncoordinated.

"I just love to play hockey," Fleury says. "I love to be around the guys. Since the off season was so short, I didn't get in to the gym as much as I would have liked. I wanted to put on a little weight, but I can't wait to get back to work and do what we can to do this again."

Jordan Talks about Sidney.

ESPN, we appreciate your interest in hockey, but if you have Jordan Staal on the phone, don't spend two minutes talking to him about Sidney Crosby, and the other two minutes asking him questions out of hockey for dummies. Hmm. Maybe the mean finals Courtney is starting to come out. Well, at least they're trying. Check out the interview below and decide for yourselves.

And FYI, that's a mouth guard in Jordan's mouth. He's not missing teeth or anything. Haha yet- the season is still young my friends!

That being said, the Pens defeated the Colorado Avalanche last night 1-4, with goals by Sidney Crosby, Bill Guerin, and two empty net goals by Jordan Staal and another by Sidney Crosby. An assist on the Guerin goal gave Sid 11 points in three games with his hat trick against the New York Rangers a week ago. Now this is the point where I do what I hated on ESPN for doing- sorry Jordan dearest, switching over to Sid now.

 Over the summer Sid switched to a one-piece composite stick, which the article I read assures me is a sign of his decision to shoot more, and about this change of attitude, he said:

"I feel like I think 'pass' first most times. So if I can think 'shoot' a little bit more, hopefully, that will open both and keep guys guessing," Crosby said. "I'll, hopefully, be a threat either way."

You gotta love the guy for wanting to share, right?

Plus he isn't suspended and out almost a hundred grand like that dope Alex Ovechkin (Washington Capitols). I'm glad mercilessly injuring people is the only way Ovechkin knows how to win- it makes it easier for him to be the bad guy.

City of Champions Crunch.

This is possibly the funniest thing I've seen all week. All year maybe. Max...it is so funny how he can't really pronounce words. Just that little affectation. So cute.

And Heinz Ward? Love that smile. That smile makes football seem like game of frisbee. It can certainly sell cereal.

Also, note how Heinz is wearing an oversized shirt that looks like it got pulled out of someone's laundry. Max is wearing a fitted, collared shirt that has been pressed and starched within an inch of its life.

There's the 'behind the scenes' thing below. Max keeps eating the cereal, I guess he only endorses a product he can really stand behind. Also the soul patch. That's creepy, he needs to get rid of that.

Army Weds.

Some happy news! Former Penguin's favorite Colby Armstrong (affectionately called 'Army' by teammates), now Atlanta Thrashers player is married! He and his girlfriend Melissa tied the knot, and FSN reporter Dan Potash (and local Pittsburgh god) confirmed during Saturday's game that Colby and Melissa are expecting their first child sometime in June.

Wonder if Crosby will be the godfather? Uncle Sid?

Die-Hard Fan.

I am in love with Max Talbot. It's a problem. For real. Anyways, this is a really great story. Sports Illustrated published a story about a woman who was in the hospital with a life-threatening illness, had slipped into a coma and the first thing she asked when she woke up was if there was a hockey game. Then her progress matched how the Penguin's were doing in their series. Which I mean, if they had lost the Stanley Cup...would she have died? Heavy.

Sounds a little crazy to me. But to each her own I guess. Plus it got her a visit from Max Talbot so hell, put me in the hospital. 'Cause I'm luuuurvv sick. Ahaha.

Penguin's Halloween.

Haha at the Pens game on Halloween, they interviewed the players to talk about their costumes as kids.

Max...so classic. He looks terrified as that clown. Also, he happened to look damn sexy when they interviewed him. Just check it out, so funny. Trust.

What I want to know is why they didn't interview Marc. I know he has some crazy costumes in his closet.

Have Pizza, Will Travel.

Every year the Pens do this thing called 'Student Rush' where students can stand in line and get tickets to a game for 20 bucks or something. Pens players have been delivering pizza to the students for a number of years, and this year Max and Marc-Andre were among the players delivering. What adorable boys. Love them.

This also proves one of my favorite theories: Have camera, people will scream. Something strange comes over people when a camera is pointed at them. You don't even have to tell them to act crazy- they just do. I've seen it when I've been in the front row at ND basketball games. It's insanity. Just watch the last few seconds of this video, it's crazy.
