Sidney Crosby Can Do Everything. Officially.

IS THIS A FREAKING JOKE??? Is there anything he can't do? Really? Anything?

There must be something. I'm going to figure out what it is. Or else the next Chuck Norris is going to be Sidney Crosby.

Au Revoir Coupe de Stanley...

It's over. Hard fought, but finished. I wish I could have seen the Pens go a little farther, but we have lost. If we had to lose to someone, I'm glad it was the Habs. I really hope they win the Stanley Cup this year, they've come up from being the number 8 seed coming into the Playoffs to beating last year's Stanley Cup Champions.

They'll be the Cinderella story of the year if they win. Everyone loves a good one of those.
Not an easy feat.

Jordan Staal rallied us late in the second, but not enough. Don't even get me started on poor Marc-Andrè. Probably think's it's his fault.
Better luck next year, and 'Bon chance' to the Canadiens!

The Kid Comes Through.

This will be in the March 8 issue of Sports Illustrated, hitting the stands on March 3. Not sure if this is just in Canada, or the US as well.

But that game...epic, right? Gripping to the very end. Then, as he always does, Sid became the shining star of Canada. I totally forgot that JUST for the Olympics, I had given Sid up in favor of Brooks Orpik and Zach Parise.

This cover brings all my Sid lovin' right on back. It was amazing, wasn't it? It made the sting of losing a little less.

Hockey's Finest: Olympiads.

Le sigh. If only this were on sale in the United States. Unfortunately, we don't care about hockey, or well...the winter Olympics at all really. So this is a strictly Canada only version of this SI.

For the record though- USA all the way. I'm rooting for my boy Brooks Orpik.
That jersey looks snazzy, non? Love the choice of blue as the dominant color. Red is so...garish. Sorry Russia.
Sergei Gonchar. It's going to be hard for me to root against him. Evgeni Malkin, eh. He doesn't need my cheers.

Doesn't Sid look good in his jersey though? Some weird and hideous thought is telling me that he got a fake tan for the occasion of this photo shoot, but I'm going to blame too much "Jersey Shore" and ignore it.
Question, and probably something only I would notice, but why do the US's and Russia's jersey's have scoop necks, and Canada's a V? Do Canadian's have thicker necks? Is it some sort of strategy?
We'll see I suppose. Fancy costumes won't win this battle.

Max vs. Sid, Round 2.

Max and Sid, Sid and Max. So adorably funny together. I posted round 1 of this Reebok commercial that feature's Sidney's famous dryer he used to practice in as a kid, and Reebok recently released the footage of round 2.

Hilarious. Their commercials, always my favorite. Then again...they're pretty much the only two that really do them. Anyways, take a look and find out who the winner of round two is.

Back Off Hoe!

Yuck. Are people really this desperate? My Sidney would never fall for something like this. SO unclassy.

However, she does have a plan. Got to give a girl credit for that.

Sid with Kids.

The Pens may have lost last night (only by one point!) but Sidney Crosby is winning in other areas- yet another commercial (he has almost as many as Max these days) and this one is, in a word, adorable. Love little hockey babies. Plus, isn't it great that Sid has time for both Reebok AND Tim Hortons? Staying true to his Canadian roots, that one. There's an article about it HERE.

Not sure if I posted his Reebok commercial with Max, but if I didn't...I am so sorry. It is phenomenal. I'll put that one down last.

Sidney Crosby for Fiber.

Sidney Crosby is nothing if not a great...well, hockey player, but he is also the ultimate endorser. Seriously, if he started endorsing water, I would probably quit...ok, cut down, my Diet Coke habit and make the switch.
National hockey star, Sidney Crosby, gives us a glimpse of what's under his jersey as he gears up for the season. The acclaimed athlete and 2009 Stanley Cup champion is backing a campaign by Kellogg's to encourage Canadians to score the body benefits of fibre, after a new survey reveals that we're not making the grade when it comes to fibre consumption. (CNW Group/Kellogg Canada Inc.)
And Sid's press release said,

"As an athlete, I know how important it is to eat well and get this powerhouse nutrient in your diet regardless of your age or your fitness levels,"said Sidney Crosby. "Fibre benefits far more than some may think: your heart, your digestive system, your weight, and your energy levels. It's hard to believe that something as simple as eating fibre can help your body in so many ways, yet we're not getting enough. That's why I'm excited to be supporting Kellogg's efforts to educate Canadians on scoring the body benefits of fibre."
I know. Something oddly sexy about the shirt, right? Apparently it's called a 'second skin' and was specially painted for him.

I can't believe I forgot to mention this- Halloween, the Pens played the Wild at home (they eventually lost) but Sid, oh he got angry. We saw one of the rarest sights known to man. Sidney Crosby getting in a fight. He's usually too cool headed, too in the game to let guys start that stuff with him. But this time, he knew what needed to be done. Marek Zidlickey pushed him too far. So sexy. Just watch. I've seen it like, eight times already.

Penguin's Halloween.

Haha at the Pens game on Halloween, they interviewed the players to talk about their costumes as kids.

Max...so classic. He looks terrified as that clown. Also, he happened to look damn sexy when they interviewed him. Just check it out, so funny. Trust.

What I want to know is why they didn't interview Marc. I know he has some crazy costumes in his closet.

Sid and Geno Sitting On a Couch...

There are going to be a couple hockey posts today because...I feel like it. Haha I'm just in that kind of mood today. Plus I need a little cheering up after the boys lost to Phoenix last night.

This is the video I have been waiting for since the Playoffs. Sid and Geno, sitting on a couch, commenting. This interview was aired on "Hockey Night in Canada" not too long ago.Watching this was such a roller coaster. Gonchar's hit from Ovechkin, which Geno and Sid still think was dirty, and certainly looks that way, all the way to Sid lifting the cup. Le sigh.

Few things:
So cute how Geno just has his arm around Sid. Just a cute, small thing. Also doesn't Sidney look adorable in black? I'll answer that- yes. And Geno on his fight with Zetterberg, so funny. "I say 'lets go fight' but he say 'no'". Guess that didn't stop him.

I was practically giggling through this interview. There is something wrong with me. I took a sip of my Diet Coke at the beginning and my hand was shaking, which normally doesn't happen until around DC numero 3. I need help.

Pens Bling.

Lots of Pens news tonight, but congrazioni to the boys for getting their Stanley Cup rings! Man talk about ice... those things have got to be insane heavy. Oh well, they're strong.

Maybe it's the Italian in me, but all I can see when I look at that ring is someone getting hit in the face with it. Ouch, non? è molto brutto.

Ha. Loves it.

Dang! That's intense. Careful with those though. My dad has a ring from the Rose Bowl. It's probably half the size, but he wore it every day for like  twenty years and now his finger is kind of curled over from the weight... I'm going to get it and wear it as a necklace!

Malkin and Jordan Go to the White House.

So flipping funny. Check out the first few seconds where Geno (Malkin) and Jordan are waving at the camera, so goofy. Then of course, Brooks Orpik, aka Free Candy looks so FREAKED. But that's just his normal face. Then Bill Guerin and Sergei Gonchar look so excited. I love them, they are so adorable.

Geno is taking pictures and texting the whole time, and you can see him and Jordan laughing in the background...and then he's texting, hears his name and pops up, like "Yes! I am here. Malkin is present." So funny. Barack has no idea what's going on. Dan Bylsma is cringing on the inside.

Best part is Barack Obama totally just roasting Sidney. Like BOOM, Roasted. Well that's Barack O-Baller for you.

The first video is the footage of the event, and the last one is an interview with Sid and Bill Guerin (love Billy Guerin) afterwards.

Cabbie on the Stanley Cup.

Beloved Penguins fanatic Molly brought this to my attention last night, and though today has been pure busy HELL, I thought I would share this...and also I needed someplace to keep it so I wouldn't lose it.

So if you like hockey or the Penguins at all, you need to watch this, so funny, so cool, in depth at the Stanley Cup Final.

If you want any more hockey fun stuff, youtube search Cabbie, he's always a good time. That's what she said.

Crosby's Day with The Cup, Part Deux.

So this morning I checked the Pensblog, which led me to discover something that made me instantly squeal with delight, and then automatically tell myself, "hey, play it cool, play it cool."

Videos from Sid's big day. YES. So adorable. Forgot to mention before that Sid cleaned the cup, one of the few players to ever do so. That's the last video I think. Le sigh. He also plays street (or tennis court) hockey with a few of his friends. He plays goalie. Wonder if Marc-Andrè is getting a little nervous about that? Haha, I promise, I will remember to write about his big day. Will start it tonight.

Along with the videos, I found an interview with Sid in The Hockey News from 2007.
When the Penguins win the Stanley Cup, what will you do with it?
I have never thought about that. If I ever had the chance, I'd obviously bring it home (to Cole Harbour, N.S.) and pl
ay a game of road hockey with my friends. I've done it so many times with my buddies, we'd play for the real Cup this time. Then I'd bring it to my parents' house and perhaps to a local hospital. Hopefully I get the opportunity.

Would you look at that. He did all them thangs! Got to love a guy who sticks to his word. Anyways, if you want to see the videos, I'll put the second below. The first one was already posted here. They're all about a minute or so long, and yet someone decided to break them up into eight bits. Follow the trail from there, it's worth it.

Sidney Crosby's Big Day.

Today, 8/7, is Sidney Crosby's birthday. Le sigh. I wish I could spend it with him.

You know who does get to spend it with him? MAX. Hahaha popYEAH!'s name inventor himself, Max Talbot. Love him. He's so cute. Sometimes I get really delusional and I think, "Geez, what would I do if they both were totally in love with me?" Then I snap out of it, because...that is just not how my life works. Deux le sigh.

Sid started off his day, as you can tell in the video I've attached below, boarding a miltary helicopter to go to his native Cole Harbor, Nova Scotia. Where of course, hundreds of skanky girls were waiting to seduce him. I mean- hundreds of fans, waiting to congratulate him. Of course.

Then at 2:30 there was a parade in his honor, which he lead and thousands attended. Today has also been declared "Sidney Crosby Day" by Halifax's mayor.

Crosby is turning 22. FML. I have three years to accomplish something.
